Vintage 1930s 'Mother' Mother of Pearl Brooch SILVER TONE The pendant features two coloursVintage Art Deco 1930s Mother of Pearl brooch with the word 'Mother' written. This type of brooch was typically given to a lady from her sweetheart or son, often a soldier or sailor before he left for duty, as a token of affection. The word 'Mother' is mounted in a rolled gold wire on a mother of pearl base and secured with a rolled gold open 'c' clasp. Rolled gold is a thin layer of gold on a base metal and fused together by heating. The brooch has a
