Maybe we’re all just a colorful pastiche in our own way

I tried to emulate the weaving on the canvas but also give it movement

I incorporated my mother’s doilies that she used for holiday desert plates

Life is messy and that’s what makes it all the more beautiful

The way it surrounds us, defines us, breathes life to a day with its brilliant blues, the way it greets the evening in refracted hues first on fire then melting to a gentle kiss into night In younger years, when I was learning to mix colors, I would look at an object in a room or a blade of grass and imagine tubes of paint in my head then try to match the colors with what Id learned. I still find it humorous
