Native to central China, unfortunately this species is threatened in the wild and is listed as Endangered by the IUCN. A small tree to 7 to 9m, it can be grown in a variety of soils as long as the are moist and well drained. N. B This is the much harder to find seedling grown plant, not a grafted specimen.
