One of several paintings done while on a week long "holiday" of that year. "The Railroad Trestle Elk, California" is another that is well known. The painting named "Windy Mendocino" was probably another. The original title to that one had been lost to time and replaced as we know it now, but most likely it was painted in Elk and was titled either "Elk Vista" or "By The Sea Elk, California"
